Las Doshas

In Ayurveda, the doshas are three energies that are believed to govern the physical and mental processes in the body. These doshas are called Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each person is thought to have a unique balance of the three doshas, and this balance is believed to influence an individual's physical and mental characteristics and tendencies. Vata is the dosha that is associated with movement and is believed to govern the nervous system and circulation. People with a dominant Vata constitution are said to be energetic, creative, and quick-witted, but may also be prone to anxiety and irregular digestion. Pitta is the dosha that is associated with transformation and is believed to govern digestion and metabolism. People with a dominant Pitta constitution are said to be intelligent, ambitious, and focused, but may also be prone to anger and irritability. Kapha is the dosha that is associated with structure and is believed to govern growth and stability. People with a dominant Kapha constitution are said to be calm, steady, and grounded, but may also be prone to sluggishness and stagnation. In Ayurveda, it is believed that maintaining a balance of the doshas is essential for good health and well-being. Imbalances in the doshas are thought to be the root cause of illness, and treatments are often designed to bring the doshas back into balance.
