Pitta In The Body

In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, pitta is one of the three doshas, or constitutional types, that represent the body's energetic balance. It is associated with fire and water elements and is said to govern metabolism, digestion, and the body's ability to transform and eliminate waste. People with a predominantly pitta constitution are thought to be energetic, intelligent, and driven, but they may also be prone to anger, irritability, and other emotions that can disturb their equilibrium. To maintain balance, people with a pitta constitution are advised to follow a diet and lifestyle that is cooling, calming, and nourishing. This may include foods that are cooling and easy to digest, such as fruits, vegetables, and grains, and avoiding spicy, oily, and fermented foods. It may also include activities that promote relaxation and mindfulness, such as yoga and meditation.
