Pitta Kapha Meaning

In the context of Ayurveda, Pitta and Kapha are two of the three doshas, or biological energies, that are believed to govern the functioning of the body and mind. Pitta is the energy that governs metabolism and transformation in the body. It is associated with heat, fire, and digestion, and is believed to be responsible for digestion, metabolism, and the body's ability to transform food into energy. People who are primarily Pitta are thought to be strong, focused, and intelligent, but can also be prone to anger and irritability. Kapha is the energy that governs structure and stability in the body. It is associated with water and earth, and is believed to be responsible for the body's structure and lubrication. People who are primarily Kapha are thought to be calm, steady, and stable, but can also be prone to lethargy and attachment. In Ayurveda, it is believed that everyone has all three doshas to some degree, but that each person has a unique balance of the three doshas that determines their physical and mental characteristics. Understanding the balance of doshas in a person's body is an important aspect of Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment.
