In Ayurveda, the three doshas are called Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Kapha is one of the three doshas, or bioenergies, that govern the body's functions and characteristics.
Kapha is related to the elements of earth and water, and is associated with the qualities of stability, lubrication, and support. It is responsible for maintaining the body's structural integrity, providing nourishment, and protecting the tissues. It is also associated with the qualities of heavy, slow, cool, oily, smooth, and static.
Kapha types are generally characterized by a heavy, solid build, with a strong immune system and good endurance. They tend to have a calm and steady temperament and may have a tendency towards sluggishness or laziness. They may also be prone to gaining weight or experiencing congestion and excess mucus.
To maintain balance, Kapha types are advised to engage in regular physical activity and avoid heavy, oily, or excessively sweet foods. They may also benefit from warming spices and herbs, and from exposure to the sun and dry environments.
