Vitiated Pitta

In Ayurvedic medicine, pitta is one of the three doshas (energies) that make up the body's constitution. It is associated with fire and water elements, and is responsible for digestion, metabolism, and the body's natural heat. When pitta is in balance, a person may feel balanced, focused, and energetic. However, when pitta becomes vitiated (imbalanced), it can lead to symptoms such as acid reflux, indigestion, skin irritation, and irritability. To treat vitiated pitta, an Ayurvedic practitioner may recommend lifestyle changes such as eating a cooling, easy-to-digest diet, avoiding spicy and sour foods, and practicing stress-reducing activities like yoga and meditation. Herbal remedies and supplements may also be recommended to help balance pitta. It is important to work with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to determine the best course of treatment for vitiated pitta.
